Important information about using Flowly
Data collection
The website collects account and license information such as an email address and sign-in data. The iOS app keeps tasks, sessions, blocking selections and World content on the device. When anonymous measurement is enabled, it sends only a random installation identifier, the app and iOS versions, language, and product journey events (onboarding, sessions, building, paywall and purchase). No task content, app title, URL, blocking selection or World content is sent.
Data use
Account data is used for authentication and license management. iOS measurement is disabled by default and starts only if you enable it under More → Data & Help → Privacy. Its anonymous events are used solely to improve the product journey; they are not linked to an account and are not used to track you across apps or websites. They are retained for 180 days and then deleted. You can disable it at any time, which also deletes the pending local queue. We never sell your data to third parties.
Google Calendar data
In the Flowly app for Mac and Windows, you can connect a Google account to show your Google Calendar events in Flowly's calendar. Flowly then requests access to read your calendars (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly) and to manage their events (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events), along with your email address to identify the connected account.
This data is used only to display your calendars and their events (title, times, location, description) in Flowly, and to create, edit or delete an event in Google Calendar when you do so yourself from Flowly's calendar. Flowly never changes your events on its own.
Events are read directly by the app on your computer, from Google's servers, when they are displayed. They are never sent to Flowly's servers, synced between your devices, shared with third parties, used for advertising, or used to train artificial intelligence models. The access token is stored only on your computer, encrypted with the system keychain.
You can remove access at any time from Settings → Tools → Connected calendars → Disconnect, which revokes the authorization with Google and deletes the token from your computer, or from https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Flowly's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements.
Flowly browser extension
The Flowly extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and Firefox only works with the Flowly app installed on the same computer. It only communicates with that app, at the local address http://localhost:45678: no data is sent to Flowly's servers or to any third party.
For website blocking, it reads the list of sites you chose to block in Flowly and turns it into browser blocking rules.
For activity tracking, it sends the app the address and title of the active tab, whether it is playing sound, whether it is a private window, the browser name and a random identifier specific to this installation. In private browsing, neither the address nor the title is recorded. This information stays in the app's local database on your computer; only daily totals per application and category may be synced with your account, and only public domain names may be sent to your AI to categorize them, as described in the app.
The extension uses no advertising, analytics or cookies, and never sells or shares any data. To stop all transmission, pause tracking in Flowly or uninstall the extension from the browser's extension manager.
